A Photo walk to freeze the beauty of nature in lens

 

Multani Mal Modi College in collaboration with janhit samiti organized a photography walk for students at Baradari Gardens strictly under all the precautionary measures for protection from Covid-19. A group of 45 students under the supervision of Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Assistant professor of the Computer Science Department participated in the walk. The college principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar also accompanied the students and he appreciated the photos captured by the students of the Photography Club and motivated them to carry out such creative activities in the future also.

The walk was carried out at Baradari garden Patiala from 11.00 am to 1.30 pm on 26-11-2021. The photo walk is one of the popular activities of the photography Club of the college that provides an opportunity to exercise the students their imagination and creativity while doing the walk. It is a casual walk at a particular place and a way of capturing scenes and freezing them into your camera lens.

The Baradari Gardens is located near Sheranwala Gate and is in the heart of the city Patiala. The garden was built by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh and contain and with some rare species of plants, trees and shrubs, dotted with impressive Colonial buildings and a marble statue of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh and the Fern House. It spreads over 3-4 acres of area and is popularly known for its magnificent twelve gates. During the photography walk, students got an opportunity to get closer to the nature. They captured landscapes, birdlife, insect life, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes. Such photography tends to put a stronger emphasis on the aesthetic value of the photos. The students have carried a range of cameras which helped them to get exposure to handle them. The theme of the walk was to capture the natural beauty and living organism in the Garden. The students were enthusiastically captured various photographs of flowers, trees, plants, insects and birds. After completing the walk, the students assembled In front of Plant Laboratory and interacted with Mr. Kulwinder Singh, Laboratory incharge. He explained them about main characteristics and life cycles of rare species of plants and trees.
